Nhaka Foundation

Nhaka Foundation was established in 2007 as a means to provide support to many children who were living in difficult circumstances in Zimbabwe. Our response is motivated by our Founder’s Christian upbringing and firm belief in the word and power of God. We feel everyone has a role to play in reaching out to the littlest and most vulnerable members of society. In so doing we should demonstrate a servant attitude and impact our communities by being the change we wish to see in the world.

Zimbabwe is one of the countries most harshly affected by the AIDS pandemic. Children bear the brunt of the crisis – as adult family members become ill and die, their children lose parental nurture, food, education, health care, home and safety. Nearly 1 million of the estimated 13 million population of Zimbabwe are orphans; this is a greater proportion than any other country in the world. Seventy-eight percent of orphaned children are a result of parents dying from AIDS.

Patrick is working to reach those children in a amazing ways through Nhaka.

PURITY Conference

On behalf of Rock Forward and Nhaka Foundation, I am honored to share some exciting news! After three years of persistence and faithfulness, Nhaka Foundation has been chosen as one of three organizations to partner with the Ministry of Education in Zimbabwe Africa.

This new relationship and agreement with the Ministry of Education will allow Nhaka Foundation to reach 5,000 plus schools and over one million children. Rock Forward is committed to a continued relationship with Nhaka and is excited to dream about endless possibilities of sharing God’s word with millions of children through our partnered after school bible curriculum. According to the Minister of Education, “Nhaka Foundation is an example of a local organization committed to the education sector and has become a leader in early childhood sector shown by their commitment towards infrastructiure refurbishment, training of early childhood development teachers, feeding of pupils and working with communities to encourage better parenting practices”.

This past summer, we had the opportunity to raise enough monies to purchase a motor bike for Pastor Zackie, our traveling bible teacher for the after school programing. This has been such a huge blessing as he was previously limited in his outreach ministry due to transportation needs. Pastor Zackie is now able to reach three different schools and has been able to infuse the word of Jesus into 2722 children through the PSS program in the second quarter alone!

Successful fund raisers on the state side also provided finances for gas and upkeep on the bike, bibles for the children and flannel graph boards for improved visual learning.

We welcome you to prayerfully consider Matthew 28, The Great Commision, as Jesus commands us to “go and make disciples of all nations”. Will you pray about the possibility of joining us in this amazing journey and developing a passion for Jesus in the hearts of these beloved children!
